About Us

LoveinaBox was born from a love story, a dream, and a passion for creating cakes that carry more than just flavor—they carry meaning. What began as a teenage game of baking clumsy cakes turned into a lifelong love affair with pastry. Years later, that same love brought me across the ocean to Bruges, Belgium, where our daughter Cattleya was born—and where, between diapers and baby bottles, this sweet adventure truly began.
It all started as a game...
As a teenager, I would bake simple cakes and pretend to be a star pastry chef. Life, however, led me down a different path—I became an engineer. But one day, nearly 4,000 meters above sea level, while celebrating a friend’s birthday, I baked again—not as an engineer, but as a pastry chef for a day. That small moment in someone else’s kitchen planted the seed of a passion that would eventually bloom in a country far from home.
In 2015, I moved to Belgium to pursue a Master’s in Environmental Sanitation at Ghent University. I came as an engineer, focused on sustainability and science—but life had more in store. During this time, I met someone extraordinary—the person who would become the love of my life. Without expecting it, I fell in love with someone 10,056 kilometers away, across the ocean. That love led to a new chapter—one that brought me to Bruges and gave me the greatest gift of all: our daughter, Cattleya.
Her arrival in July 2016 brought with it a wave of reflection. I thought back to those old cake experiments and felt compelled to try again. As fate would have it, a friend of my husband’s was hosting a concert for his birthday—I couldn’t resist. I baked again. That moment reignited the passion that had been waiting quietly inside me.
Each new cake became a challenge, each one more complex than the last. It wasn’t easy, but we never believed it was impossible. That belief, along with love, continues to guide us. Every cake we make is more than just flour, sugar, and hours of work—it carries the story of a love that crossed an ocean and a dream that was born between baby bottles and lullabies.
And because July has always been our special month—marking both Cattleya’s birth and the start of this dream—this year in July we opened the doors of our very own cake bar. A cozy and sweet place where people can taste our creations in small portions, and discover our cakes in a unique and playful way: cake jars.
